The Making of "The Lord's Prayer"

In Luke 11:1, after Jesus stopped praying, one of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray . . ." That is when Jesus gave the disciples His model prayer of instruction. Scripture puts a huge emphasis on prayer. In I Timothy 2:1-4 we are instructed to pray for political leaders, "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR NATION during this time of elections! Pray for God's mercy. We have sinned grievously and we deserve God's judgment. Then put feet to your prayers and GO VOTE with wisdom from God's Word. (I have found a great resource for information about candidates - ivoterguide.com. Check it out!) God bless you as you respond in obedience to God's Word.

This personal history is why I have such a genuine interest in supporting others today; I’ve realized that when the weight of complex research or technical writing becomes an overwhelming struggle, finding the…
