These two related verses are lettered in a Fraktur based style. As I considered the message of these verses, I decided to highlight the two major descriptive words of those that have gone on to be with the Lord - Precious and Blessed!

  • Story Behind the Art

In the fall of 2017, my Aunt Sally Lou went to be with the Lord. She was a wonderful aunt and our family had the privilege of growing up about 20 minutes from Uncle Dave and Aunt Sally Lou. They lived across the yard from my Grandma Neds. I have fond memories of spending time with the whole family. Uncle Dave helped us build our house in Ohio and was a huge blessing! He went to be with the Lord in the fall of 2007. I remember Aunt Sally Lou sharing with me at one point Luke 12:32 - "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." She was a child of the King at that time, and is now with Him in heaven. She had particularly beautiful handwriting, which inspired me to do the same. Also in the fall of 2017, another saint went to be with the Lord. His name is John Hill. He and his wife Betty were married almost 76 years! They attended our church and we had the privilege of knowing them. They were prayer warriors and impacted many lives for Christ. Earlier in 2017, Betty died. John greatly missed her. They are both with the Lord together now. This piece is done in honor and memory of these couples.
