These verses are done using the Fraktur style. The phrase "Bless the LORD" is repeated, so I did it in gold with a thin black outline. The benefits are done in various colors to match the benefits (example: "redeems" is in red to symbolize how we are redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot).

  • Story Behind the Art

    Several years ago, I had the privilege of working with a men's Bible study group in our neighborhood in Rockwall, Texas. As I taught on Psalm 103, the truths made a significant impact on my life. It is so easy to forget God's benefits. We need to regularly recite them, and bless His name. This reminds me of the hymn "Count Your Blessings".

    Bless the Lord, O my soul;
    And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
    Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    And forget not all His benefits:
    Who forgives all your iniquities,
    Who heals all your diseases,
    Who redeems your life from destruction,
    Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
    Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
    So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    Bless the Lord, O my soul!
