Proverbs 11:30b

Proverbs 11:30b

$4.00Price

The first three lines are lettered in turquoise in the Chancery Cursive style. The word "WISE" is done in the Uncial style in light brown. The owl is used to illustrate this verse because it is so often referred to as wise. This is possible because of its big eyes, emphasized by the coloring of the feathers around them. Also, the owl is able to look all the way around by spinning its head, not its body. It has amazing night vision and can quietly snatch its prey in the dark.

  • Story Behind the Art

This piece was done for a Gideons Auxillary luncheon in Texas. The emphasis was on speading the Word and winning souls for Christ. They requested that the owl be used to illustrate this verse. The longer I live, the more I see the need to be wise by spreading the Gospel. The love of Christ constrains us, and knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men (read II Corinthians 4 and 5, and Luke 10:2).
