Philippians 1:6

Philippians 1:6

This verse is lettered in the Fraktur style, with an ornamental Lombardic first letter. Both Christ's name and His pronoun are lettered in gold and then outlined. He is our reason for confidence. He is our confidence, so the first phrase is linked to Him through the gold. Our confidence is sealed with Christ's blood, which He shed on the cross for us. Thus, the cross is central in this manuscript.

  • Story Behind the Art

My parents asked me to letter this verse for their good friend Foy Thompson. This is one of his favorite verses (and one of mine, also).  He has served a teacher, principal, and coach. In his younger years, he played college football for Auburn. He loves the Lord and has impacted many lives for Christ.
