Only One Life

To communicate the shortness of time, and the need to redeem the time for Christ, I used an hour glass, with the famous quote from C.T. Studd. The lettering is done in Fraktur. The words "will last" are elongated to visually represent this truth, along with the gold highlights to contrast what's done for Christ with what gets burned up (I Cor. 3:11-15). The sand in the hour glass is also shown in a gold color to represent how precious time really is. Phrases from Psalm 90:12 and Ephesians 5:16 are included with this quote.

    I have had this saying on my list of personal lettering tasks, but had not gotten around to doing it. My friend Bill Bonnie called in early December of 2015 and wanted this done for a Christmas gift. I was happy to have extra motivation to get it done. C. T. Studd's life has made an impression on me.
