I like to think of this set of verses as the "Do Not Worry" sandwich. The meat of the sandwich is seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. These phrases are lettered in a large highlighted uncial style. The rest of the verses surround the "SEEK FIRST" in Standard Zanerian Engrosser's Script. The flourishing lines below respresent the flourishing life of those who seek Him first and trust in Him instead of worrying. Thus, the dark shades of worry that attempt to overshadow us are dispelled!

  • Story Behind the Art

This verse was lettered for my third oldest daughter, Lydia, for her high school graduation. It is one of her favorite verses and it is evident by her life. Now, years after she graduated, she is married to Samuel Smith, who loves the Lord. They have little Marcus running around at their home with twin girls on the way! What a blessing their family is!

    Matthew 6:31-34

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
