This verse is lettered in the Fraktur style, with a large decorated Lombardic first letter. Red is used to represent the "much" that has been given to us through Christ's death on the cross. It is only reasonable (Romans 12:2) that "much" is required of us.
Story Behind the Art
This verse was done for a pastor at the time of his retirement. It is one of his favorite verses. He had given much for the Lord in response to God's unspeakable (indescribable) gift to him.
Text
Luke 12:48b
