John 3:30

John 3:30

This statement from John the Baptist begins with a Lombaric capital "H". After that, the rest of the first line and the entire third line are lettered in the Fraktur style. The second and fourth lines are lettered in the Uncial style, with the sizes appropriate to the verse text.

  • Story Behind the Art

Since I am so involved in putting God's Word on parchment in creative ways, as I read Scripture I am constantly thinking of how I would arrange the various words to communicate the meaning. Several years ago when I came across John 3:30, I thought this arrangement might help convey this important prayer. May He continually increase in each of our lives, as we in turn decrease!
