John 15:5

John 15:5

Once again, Jesus is using object lessons to teach eternal truth, this time with vines and branches. He is the vine, we are the branches. The colors chosen can be found in any vineyard. The verse is lettered in Formal Italic, with illuminated Fractur letter "I"s, which speak of Christ. Small verse phrases are repeated in Uncial between the lines in the form of vines with a few leaves sprouting here and there.

I am grateful for the emphasis that Pastor Woody put on Scripture memory. As a church, we memorized passages, including John 15. This verse was lettered for the bulletin cover to aid in memorization.
