This powerful verse is lettered in Fraktur, with a large illuminated Lombardic capital. The words of Jesus are in red. The words of Jesus here make it clear. There is no other way to heaven except through Him. This is not "politically correct" in our day, but it is none the less true.
Story Behind the Art
This was lettered in English for a godly lady, Winnie Omlor, who attended my home church as I grew up. She dearly loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know about Him. She and a good friend of hers began a project of sending a gospel tract to every person in the phone book in Columbus, Ohio. As she aged, she got osteoporosis and was very stooped over. Even in her old age, she still had a strong, enthusiastic handshake. When she had to move to a care facility, whe wanted to have this verse on her door, so everyone would know about Jesus. She is with the Lord now, enjoying and worshipping Him.
More recently, I did a Spanish version of this verse, in the same style as the original. My oldest daughter, Rebekah, married Pablo Gaspar, who is from Puebla, Mexico. I did this verse for his family there.
