Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11

This verse is lettered in the Fraktur style with black ink and gold highlights. The first occurance of "PLANS" is done in the Classic Roman style. The next two occurances of "Plans" each have a Lomardic capital, as does the first word of the verse. His plans are always best for us, although they don't always appear that way from our sinful human perspective.

  • Story Behind the Art

When my oldest son, Benjamin, was a sophomore in High School, Lee Ekleberry from Berean Bible Church drew a small picture of Benjamin and put it in a frame with this verse. I decided to letter this verse for Benjamin for his High School graduation and also used it in his graduation announcement. The word "plan" occurs three times in this verse, so I tried to emphasize it in the lettering. I used a bold, majestic style to denote the noble, lofty, and eternally productive nature of God's plans for us. Benjamin is an inspiration to me in the way he practices the Lord's example of loving people. He takes the time to get to know people that others ignore or despise. We look forward to seeing how God continues to direct Benjamin in His plans for His glory.
