These verses are lettered in the Fraktur style, in black, gold, and dark green ink with red and green highlights. The "Lord Jesus Christ" is set apart and enlarged - He alone is our source of victory! The version is KJV.
Story Behind the Art
Woody Proffitt was the Senior Pastor of Rockwall Bible Church, where I serve as Assistant Pastor. These are two of Woody and Della Proffitts favorite verses. In 2005, Woody commissioned me to letter these verses for their 25th wedding anniversary. The Lord Jesus Christ is clearly the emphasis. I used the illuminated first letters and the spacing to separate the statement of victory from the result steadfastness, stability, and abounding in the Lords work (suggested by the vines). The Lord has used Woody and Della to bless our family in ways that are too numerous to detail here. I counted it an honor to be asked to letter this for them.
Text
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
